GWGVFD Calls In 2002 Approach 15,000

(Gaithersburg) --  2002 was another record-breaking year for the Gaithersburg - Washington Grove Volunteer Fire Department.  Units from Stations 8 and 28 answered 14,825 calls, a 5% increase over the call load in 2001.

Station 8, on Montgomery Village Avenue, responded to 11,217 calls...8,893 of them for emergency medical service and 2,324 for fire service.  Station 28, at Shady Grove and Muncaster Mill Roads, answered 3,608 calls...2,372 of them medical and 1,236 fire.
