Engine_81.jpg (129231 bytes) Our primary firefighting rig at Station 8 is Engine 81. It's an Emergency One Freightliner 1500 GPM Triple Combination Pumper with a 750 gallon water tank. E-81 also carries a 50 gallon inboard foam system, a Hurst rescue tool system, and a Bullard thermal imager. The engine is also fully equipped with ALS (paramedic) gear and, when a paramedic is assigned as a member of its minimum of three firefighters, the unit is known as Medic Engine 81. A similarly equipped Freightliner, Engine 281, is quartered at Station 28.

Engine 82.jpg (125161 bytes) Our back-up engine is Engine 82. It's a Seagrave 1500 GPM Triple Combination Pumper with a 750 gallon tank and a 50 gallon inboard foam system. It carries a Hurst rescue tool system and an AED (automatic electronic defibrulator). E-82 can be upgraded to full ALS status.

Tower 8.jpg (78395 bytes) Tower 8 is our truck company. It's a Simon Duplex/LTI 85 foot all-steel ladder tower, with a 1500 GPM waterway and multiple discharge from the tower platform. Tower 8 carries a Bullard thermal imager. The rig is equipped with an AED and is upgradeable to full ALS status. It's also equipped with a Bullard Thermal Imager.

a87.jpg (147093 bytes) Ambulance 87 is one of two Basic Life Support (BLS) emergency medical service units quartered at Station 8. The second is Ambulance 88. We also have a spare, identified as Ambulance 86. All are Freightliner/Wheel Coach Medical Attack Vehicles. While all three are fully equipped BLS transport units, A88 also carries full advanced life support equipment. If a paramedic is assigned it can run as Medic 88. We also use Freighliners for our Advanced Life Support (ALS) unit, Medic 89, which is quartered at Station 8 and Ambulance 289, which is quartered at Station 28.

Car 84.jpg (140301 bytes) Our command vehicle is Car 84. It's a Ford Custom Command Vehicle that has two radios, (front and back), a cellular phone, a computer with pre-plans and work space. It also carries an AED.

Utility 8.jpg (79451 bytes) Utility 8 is one of our utility trucks. (The other, unpictured, is Utility 28). U8 is a Chevy Mechanics vehicle equipped with a generator, tools, lighting and other equipment for our fleet maintenance team to perform many repairs in the field. It can also be equipped with a snow plow.

Brush 85 Our brush truck is Brush 85 and is quartered at Station 8. It's a 2001 Ford 4 wheel drive brush unit with a 150 gallon tank, multiple attack lines, and an "on the move" ground sprayer system. It's AED-equipped.

MUCH OF THE EQUIPMENT WE CARRY ON OUR RIGS, SUCH AS THE THERMAL IMAGERS AND THE AEDs, ARE PAID FOR OUT OF COMMUNITY DONATIONS, FOR WHICH WE ARE EXTREMELY GRATEFUL.
